30 (Second Post) Video Podcasting!

So, I've been thinking about doing a "Video Podcast" there is so much that can be said via voice, and it's sometimes an easier way to explain what you mean. Text can only go so far...

"Legend of Zelda: Dark Sage (Encore)"

This same dude also made a sequal video which is, in my opinion, a very interesting intagration type story between "Ocarina of Time" and "Majora's Mask". There is no recap story this round, though, if I emailed him he may share some light on the sequal films story.

In any chase, its very interesting. Basicly, "Link" has gone to the same place where we saw him fight good old Ganny and is atop "The Temple of Light" fighting "Majora's Mask" who is...Winning.

I won't tell you what happens next because, it's quite a surprise. Again, weather your a Zelda fan or not, it's worth a watch.

"Legend of Zelda: Dark Sage"

So, I am a "Youtube Watcher" I like to spend some of my free time just randomly searching Youtube. Well, I came across this little vid the other day and was very impressed.

The Video is called "The Legend of Zelda: Dark Sage". It was created in 3DS Max by a college student, quite frankly, it is brillant. Not only for it's CGI, but for the story as well. The synophses is this.

ANIMATION SYNOPSIS: Using the Triforce of Power, the Demon King Ganondorf has manifested himself as a Sage and is using the Temple of Light to radiate his evil influence across the kingdom of Hyrule.

After reclaiming the Triforce of Courage and Wisdom from his ancestors, a destined Hero embarks on a journey to find the Blade of Evil's Bane and enter into combat with the Dark Sage...

This video also recaps on the creation of Hyrule "In full CGI Detail". Not since "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" has that part of "Legend of Zelda" been retold in such detail. His modeling of the Goddesses is also to be commended. Overall if your a Zelda Fan, watch it, if your not, still watch it. This is worth 5 minutes and 50 seconds of your life.

Conceptual Assignment

So this quarter I have a class called "Rapid Visualazation" which is as close as I am going to get to being in an "Art Class" at I.T.T lol And one of the Projects we have been assigned over break is to come up with some concepts for a rock group along with a presentation of our conceptual work.

Over this break I have to come up with three diffrent concepts.

A: For A CD Cover
B: For A Group Poster
C: For A Group T-Shirt

This is a great project, because if there is one thing I can do...it's conceptualize! It's fun to draft/design, work randomly. The challenge is going to be drawing it out. I like to draw, but as we all know it's no walk in the park. So after the christmas rush! I am going to sit down and spend some time with my pencil and blank pages.

Goal of the next few Weeks!

So one of the best dudes I have ever come to know, by name "Shaun" has shown me "The Golden Nugget" "The Big Treasure" The big score! Yes, it is called Autodesk Education Suite for Entertainment Creation 2010 (Perpetual License)! Translation. This is comes with BOTH 3DS MAX/MAYA 3D/FULL COMMERCAIL License! For only....are you ready for this????..... 349:98!!

So I am hoping to get the cash for this over the next few weeks, because if/when I do! I will be playing with gold!!

May actually be getting a copy of (3DS Max)

So I may actually have a fully (Use for Public) version of 3DS Max 2009. It's from a company who buy's the product for full price, but sells it to us for less. It actually looks legit.

So I am hoping to get a copy in the next few weeks... if so, then I will be able to do some (for public use) modeling!! I may also begin work on a game idea i've had for a while.

I hope this is down right true because man, I would love to start modeling/releasing my stuff.

A Month (With Max)

So one of the cool things about my 3rd Quarter is that I may actually start working with 3D programs! Natrually it will be 3DS Max (if we can pick) and so I thought, why not get a head start?

Autodesk offers a free "30 Day Trail" for 3DS Max! And since I am on break for the next 2 weeks... well I may as well play around with it! :) So I have downloaded the free trail and will fimilarize myself with the program. Who knows, I could end up liking it more then Maya3D.

You know, ever since I began College I've been on a train reck. I mean, seriously I think I was more orginized when I wasn't in College. Which is weird. Ironicly though, one of the things they tought us in the first quarter was how to be orginized and so "I wrote a schedule up". However sticking to it was another matter. Frankly I just didn't do so well. Mainly because I just wasn't motivating myself to do so and I was always tired. So for that first quarter I was, as I said earlier "A Train Reck".

But now that the 2nd quarter has started I want things to smooth out. I do not want a repeat of last quarter. So I think I am going to retry the whole scheduling thing and see how it goes. If I can manage it well. I should have more free time, more sleep and less worries.
